I have had the F 5 for a little over a month and it is my first since I was 15 (30 years). Before I bought it I did about 2 months of research on detectors, I mean I read everything on all the forums and the folks who sold them. At first I was convinced the garrett 250 was the one for me to start with, but that soon changed to the F 5, plus I had saved some more money. I told the wife that I new I was gonna get back into this and I would just wanna upgrade later. I strongly believe I have the best M D out there for me! It has allot of great feachers, but It's not a pick up and go one! I did alot of studying from users on other forums and one guy stands out on explaining this machine to me, name was Mike Hillis on another site. When I got my detector I felt like I already had A head start and already new how to use It, Well I was wrong, but am picking up on that learning curve and having a blast finding things. This M D can can be fine tuned in a flash with the dial knobs. The L E D read out really helps you with whats down there (0-99 It has four tone settings for audio, A gain dial, threshold dial, discrim and ground balance dial. The buttons have a frequency setting from 1 to 3 for interference, A pin point, A phase lock for fast updating the ground balance, A notch and tones. Very happy with no regrets Yet.
Bobby Bridge. Be safe out there folks.
